Gary Owen has been entertaining America for over a decade with his side-splitting comedy.
Having performed in all of the major comedy rooms across America, including The Laugh
Factory Hollywood, The Comedy Store, all of the Improvs, numerous Funny Bones and
Punchlines, and Caroline’s in New York, Owen is one of America’s most loved comedians.
Owen has also been recognized around the country for his scene stealing role of “Bearcat” in
Owen can be seen as “Zach” the barber on Tyler Perry’s extremely successful HOUSE OF
PAYNE, which just got picked up for an additional 46 episodes. Perry met Owen on the Tom
Joyner Morning Show (on which Owen is a regular), immediately knew he wanted to work with
him, and wrote him into the show. Additionally, Owen has been seen in such films as LITTLE
MAN with the Wayans Brothers, REBOUND, and DADDY DAY CARE with Eddie Murphy.
Owen was always the class clown growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, he got
serious and enlisted in the Navy. He was chosen for the prestigious Presidential Honor Guard.
However, spinning rifles and carrying flags for George Bush and Bill Clinton turned out to
be the wrong job for a funny guy. “I was always smiling,” he remembers, “I got yelled at for
smiling all the time.”

Lavell Crawford has caught a few breaks over the past two decades, most notably when he finished runner-up in the 2007 season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and most recently nabbing a recurring role in this season of AMC’s Breaking Bad.

But Crawford, 42, continues to tour as a stand-up comedian, and debuts his latest hour special, Lavell Crawford: Can A Brother Get Some Love, tonight on Comedy Central. In the special, Crawford tells several stories about his childhood and how his mother used to treat him. We talked a little bit about that as well as about

his career in comedy.

Early last month, we got the first glimpse of a new sketch comedy show coming to Fox, In The Flow with Affion Crockett. A master of impressions and characters, the titular TV veteran will take on most of the acting duties himself. Perhaps this is Fox’s way of getting back the magic of its now defunct (and horribly under-appreciated) sketch show MadTV, without dealing with so much personnel? The fact that Jamie Foxx is behind In The Flow can only help Crockett’s chances of survival as a weekly comedy star on network television. That, and his comedy chops, which you can check out below before the debut bows this Sunday on Fox from 9 to 10 pm EST. In this clip, Crockett manages to become Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Cory Gunz.

Dave Chapelle

Comedy is a very approval oriented field,” says comedian Dave Chappelle in his first interview in five years. Currently, the world’s population is just under seven billion people. Having everyone liking a single person is a statistical impossibility, much less thinking they’re funny. And Chappelle pointed out this fact out while chatting with the morning radio crew at San Francisco’s Wild 94.9 FM about the incident Chappelle had at a charity benefit in Florida where Chappelle opted to not tell jokes.
